What we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your choices.
Last updated: September 9, 2026
1. Who we are
D.scribe ("D.scribe", "we", "us") is a voice-to-manuscript service operated by Kyle Ingram, an individual proprietor based in Dallas, Texas, United States. Questions and requests about this policy go to kyle@d-scribe.app.
This policy explains what information D.scribe collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to d-scribe.app and every feature inside the product.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google.
- Your content: audio you record or upload, links you submit for transcription, transcripts, brainstorm conversations with T.H.E.O, notes, outlines, generated chapters, and the edits you make to them.
- Choices about your project, such as the target reader you pick and whether you list a project publicly.
- Support messages and feedback you send us.
- Consent choices for cookies and marketing.
Information created while you use the service
- Usage and metering: which features you run, how much Ink and voice time each one uses, and your balance.
- Editing signals: how you change generated text, so the editor can learn your style within your own account (Editorial Memory and Voice-Match).
- Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, timestamps, and error reports.
Information from other services
- Google, if you sign in with Google or connect Google Drive for export.
- Stripe, our payment processor: customer and subscription identifiers, plan, and payment status. We never see or store your full card number.
3. How we use information
- to run the service: transcribe your audio, analyze it, build outlines, draft chapters, and let you edit and export them;
- to personalize output to your voice, using only your own recordings and edits;
- to sign you in, keep your session secure, and protect against abuse (rate limits, fraud checks);
- to meter usage, bill for paid plans and top-ups, and send receipts;
- to send account and service messages, such as sign-in links, billing notices, and changes to these terms;
- to fix bugs and understand how the product is used;
- to comply with the law.
We do not sell your personal information or your content, and we do not use your content to train AI models.
4. AI disclosure: how your content is processed
D.scribe is built on artificial intelligence. Transcripts, analyses, outlines, and chapters are generated by AI models from your recordings and instructions, then shaped by your edits. AI output can be wrong, incomplete, or unsuitable. You are the author: review everything before you publish it.
To do this work we send parts of your content to specialist providers:
- Anthropic (Claude) writes and rewrites text from your transcripts and outlines. Under the API terms we use, Anthropic does not train its models on this content.
- Deepgram transcribes your audio. We have opted out of Deepgram's Model Improvement Program, so your recordings are not used to improve their models.
- ElevenLabs turns T.H.E.O's replies into speech during voice brainstorms. Only the text to be spoken is sent.
- Web research providers (Tavily, Brave Search, Supadata) receive only the search queries T.H.E.O forms during brainstorm research, never your recordings.
Each provider processes data only to deliver its service to us, under its own security and retention terms. We keep this list current and will update it here when a provider changes.
5. Service providers (subprocessors)
- Vercel — hosting and delivery of the application
- Supabase — database and sign-in (servers in the United States)
- Cloudflare R2 — private storage for your audio files, served through short-lived signed links
- Anthropic, Deepgram, ElevenLabs, Tavily, Brave Search, Supadata — AI and research processing described in section 4
- Stripe — payments, subscriptions, and invoices
- Sentry — error monitoring
- Google — sign-in with Google, and Google Drive export if you choose to connect it
- TikTok and LinkedIn — advertising measurement pixels, loaded only if you accept marketing cookies
6. Cookies and similar technologies
We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your cookie choice. Marketing pixels from TikTok and LinkedIn load only after you click Accept in the cookie banner; you can change that choice at any time by clearing your browser's site data for d-scribe.app, which shows the banner again.
7. When we share information
- with the service providers in sections 4 and 5, only as needed to run D.scribe;
- with Google Drive, only when you press Export to Drive on a project you own;
- on the public Discover page, only for projects you have chosen to list publicly, and only the title, description, audience, excerpt, and author name you set;
- when the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of D.scribe, our users, or others;
- with a successor if the business is sold or reorganized, under this same policy;
- otherwise only at your direction or with your consent.
8. How long we keep information
- Your projects, transcripts, chapters, and audio stay in your account until you delete the project or the account.
- Deleting a project removes its audio from storage. Deleting your account removes your projects, audio, transcripts, and profile, and cancels any subscription.
- After account deletion we keep a one-way hash of your email address so free starter Ink cannot be claimed twice. The hash cannot be turned back into your email.
- Stripe keeps billing records for as long as tax and payment rules require.
- Error reports and server logs are kept for up to 90 days.
- Copies may persist in provider backups for a limited period after deletion before they are overwritten.
9. Your choices and rights
- Export: download any project as PDF or DOCX, or send it to Google Drive, at any time.
- Delete: remove a project from its page, or delete your whole account from Settings → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
- Marketing cookies: decline them in the banner, or clear site data to be asked again.
- Google Drive: disconnect D.scribe at any time from your Google Account permissions page.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, to receive a copy of it, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to appeal a decision we make about a request. Email kyle@d-scribe.app from the address on your account and we will respond within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for exercising a right.
10. International users
D.scribe is operated from the United States and your information is processed there. If you use the service from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or elsewhere, your information is transferred to the United States. Our providers rely on recognized transfer mechanisms such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
11. Children
D.scribe is for adults. You must be 18 or older to use it, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
12. Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Audio lives in private storage reachable only through short-lived signed links. Database access is scoped to your own account, deleted-account records are hashed, and every AI and sign-in endpoint is rate limited. No system is perfectly secure; if you find a problem, please tell us at kyle@d-scribe.app so we can fix it.
13. Changes to this policy
When we make material changes we will post the new version here with a new date and, for significant changes, tell you by email or in the product before they take effect.
